Multi-Level Marketing known as MLM Network Marketing is often put in the same category with Pyramid Schemes and the most voiced question out there is “What is the difference, or is there really one?” There are so many people out there today who have had a “bad experience” with one and confusing it with the other. Maybe, you are one of them.

MLM (Network Marketing) is a legitimate way to make income and a very popular way in retailing products compared to more “traditional methods” by working in a retail store worked by sales clerks and associates. The only difference is, one is working in a store environment and the other through marketing themselves as an independent distributor for their products via network marketing online and offline. Instead of going to work in a retail store, the network marketer is generally working from a home office.

With a network marketing structure a person can manage and build their business and sales force by team building also known as “recruiting” and supplying those individuals with training, encouragement, and motivation in the sale of their products. Yes, make no bones about it your compensation (also known as residual income) does and will include a certain percentage of the sales your entire group earns as well as what you earn from your own sales to retail customers. Just as a sales associate in a store front would with commission on their sales volume of that sold product so then their company in turn makes a profit.

It is because of this opportunity that Multi-Level Marketing has become so popular in this economic crisis that is gripping our nation. This opportunity is a way of starting a legitimate home business with a much smaller bracket of start up costs than say for instance a “traditional business.” Leasing a building, high overhead costs, employees to pay and so forth.

In order to differentiate between a legitimate business and one “disguised” as one such as a Pyramid is this;

A Pyramid will push to make money off of you in a very high paced and quick manner. You will feel high pressure and fast talking to reel you in. The next thing you know, you are out quite a bit of money and once you’re “in” you virtually never hear from them again. They have made their money and now on to the next. All the while leaving you holding the bag not knowing what to do with it and set you up for disaster.

Now, in Multi-Level Marketing it is geared towards helping you make your money and assisting you in building your business and their own by selling products to the consumer. MLM Network Marketers want you to succeed in your business. It matters to them and yes it benefits both you and them in the process in building a business that will give both the financial freedom desired whatever that financial goal is.

It is extremely important and I stress this with all my might, before you sign on the dotted line with any company, investigate it very carefully and take your time making the right decision for you. If you are feeling that high pressure, or your alarms, bells and whistles are going off, follow your intuition. Learn from those who have been there and made those mistakes and stumbles along the way. Most Network Marketers want to prevent you from pitfalls via their experience.

Here’s a great way to start by asking yourself 3 simple questions:

1. How much are you willing to invest in your home business?

While you are not starting a traditional business as we spoke of earlier you are starting a business none-the-less which does require some investment. However, that does not mean breaking your pocketbook either.

Start Up Costs: Start up fees in Multi-Level companies are generally small and often for a sales kit so that you are prepared to show your product and start selling to make money as quickly as you can for your business. Most of these companies want to make it easy and as inexpensive as possible for you to reach your sales goals. Some will also offer you more than one option in helping you get started.

A Pyramid Scheme on the other hand will make most of their profit off of signing up new recruits. That is not the case with MLM.

2. Does the company buy back any unsold inventory should you decide it’s not for you?

Legitimate companies that require inventory generally will “buy back” any unsold and unused products/merchandise if you decide that you no longer wish to be in the business.

Note: Many states have laws that require company buy backs for at least 90% of your original cost.

3. Does the company you signed up with sell their products to consumers?

This is a main key element and network marketing distributors rely on their sales to consumers and establishing a customer/distributor rapport for repeat sales. In turn, this requires quality products that are affordable for the consumer and be competitively priced.

A Pyramid Scheme on the other hand have no concern with sales to consumers of products. Their profits are made on the volume sales of their new recruits, who in turn buy the products, not whether the products are useful or even priced affordable or even competitive in the market. This is because their new recruit must purchase the products in order to “stay in the business and therefore they make their money off of what you spend not a consumer.

When purchasing inventory keep in mind it should never be more than you can realistically be expected to sell at any given time. A good, legitimate business does not want to see you in debt. The goal here is for you to become debt-free. A true MLM network marketing business when push comes to shove in all truthfulness allows you to build your business as wide as you want, how you want, bring as many people into your business as you desire and still pull in income on a certain depth of your company.

A Pyramid Scheme on the other hand dictates what you can and cannot do in your own business.

With this said once again, please investigate all your options out there before going into business of any sort.

This recipe is my own and happens to be a huge hit at home with the family and friends that come over alike.  I created this in my kitchen because frankly most quiche I’ve tried is so bland.  This is a very rich quiche and nothing low-cal or bland about it!

Quiche is predominately known as a breakfast meal but we often love to have this dish as a Sunday brunch or even an evening meal served with a garden salad, ceasar salad or fresh fruit depending on your taste and grilled apsaragus also compliments this dish.

Ingredients You’ll Need

(1) 15 oz. Deep Dish Frozen Piecrust

(8) slices of Bacon

(4) Green Onions chopped up in bite size pieces

(1) Cup of Big Eye Swiss grated

(1) Cup of Pepper Jack Cheese grated

(6) Large Eggs

(1) Cup of Heavy Whipping Cream

1/2 tsp. salt

1/8 tsp of nutmeg

1/8 tsp of White Pepper

1/8 tsp. of Red Pepper Flakes (if you like more spice add an extra pinch)

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F….take a fork and poke a few holes into the bottom of your piecrust to prevent bubbling then place into oven for approximately 5 minutes then remove from oven.

Drop oven temp down to 350 degrees F.

Cook your bacon slices until very crisp, then drain on paper towels when done…once cooled crumble bacon into small pieces…you can crumble them with your hands or do what I do I use and kitchen knife and chop it up.

When piecrust has been taken out of the oven…layer your bacon at the bottom of piecrust, then add your green onions, and 1/2 cup of each cheese. (You will want to place your quiche on a baking sheet to prevent spillage so do this before you add egg mixture)

Whisk your eggs until frothy (or use a blender I find this makes for a better consistency) along with your heavy cream, salt, white pepper and red pepper flakes until blended well and pour mixture over your dry ingredients you added to bottom of crust.

Sprinkle remaining cheese on top of egg mixture and sprinkle your nutmeg on top.

If you have a piecrust sheild to place around your crust this will prevent your crust from burning.  If not you can cut strips of aluminum foil and crimp around edges (I warn you its a pain so if you can get a piecrust shield get one you’ll love it for all pies and quiches made!)

Bake your quiche at the 350 degree F temp for 45-60 min. depending on your oven.  Check for doness with a toothpick down the center and if it comes clean its done!  Pull out of oven and let sit for 10 min so it settles and easier to cut.

My love of cooking came about at a very young age of 7 years old.  My  mother was away alot leaving me and my dad home alone quite a bit and frankly at a very young age I was getting a bit tired of my wonderful Dad’s canned spaghettio’s lol….ya my Dad bless his every loving heart could burn water and it gets really tiresome eating out sooooo…..

I spent a lot of time in my grandmother’s “Nonnie’s” kitchen and I learned how to cook and bake by observing her.  The bad thing to this is (well not bad for me but others who wanted my “recipe”" was that I learned to freehand cook.  This means that I was taught to eyeball all my ingredients and not measure (except for baking I do measure then).  I became a master of it so when someone askes me for my recipe I looked at them like a deer caught in headlights.  With the constant complaints of my son wanting to know what I put in this and that I started to write things down lol…he wanted them for when he went out on his own and could make them himself…ya right he still comes home.  In fact just yesterday he was like “Moooooooooom please make…” and he proceeded to give me a list and instructed me to let him know when they were being made so he could come to dinner lol…..sheesh.

So, the first thing I made on my own was a pot of chili.  I pulled up my footstool up to the oven (I don’t recommend anyone letting their 7 yr old cook unattended) and started to create..came out darn good too hahahhahahha.

So, this was my beginning and I even get people asking me to make them this or that for a party of theirs…I missed my calling as a caterer I think.  Some of these recipes are my own, some I’ve taken from cookbooks and embellished them and some that I’ve tried and fell in love with as well as family and friends….

You know when we are young and our skin is smooth and taught we never consider the fact that it will not always remain so somewhere down the line as we get older.  With our environment harsher than ever before with pollutants most of us truly have no idea just what damage this alone does to our skin.  Starting a good skincare regimen young and continue on over the years has positive benefits especially when using natural, nutritious products verses loading your skin with chemically induced products.

Is it too late to reverse damage done to your skin by not caring for it properly?  Not entirely.  While one cannot “reverse” damage totally it can be reversed to a certain degree and slowed in its tracks with a proper skincare regimen to bring back health and vitality to your skin without harsh chemicals.

There are 6 important things your face needs:

1.  Cleansing- Beautiful healthy skin begins with properly cleansing your face every morning and night. Our aloe-based, sulfate free Antioxidant Daily Facial Cleanser is extremely gentle and helps fight the signs of aging as you cleanse your face. Our cleanser is loaded with MSM (a natural plant compound that is beneficial in strengthening the skin’s support structure) , DMAE (a natural compound that benefits tightening of the skin) and Pomegranate which is high in antioxidants, slows down the aging process and dramatically tightens and firms your skin resulting in a toned and youthful look.

2.  Exfoliate – Twice a week you’ll want to exfoliate (or SMOOTH) your skin using our Refining Microderm Treatment to remove dead skin, otherwise you are just covering the dead skin that can dull your complexion. As we age the Collagen thickness decreases and flattens allowing the surface of our skin to sag. Glycolic acid also helps to even out the skin tone and improve the texture of the skin as well as removing dead cells to stimulate new cells to replace them for a fresher, healthier appearance. You’ll notice softer, renewed skin after just one application!  Once a week apply our delicious and purifying Pumpkin Enzyme Peel. Our age-fighting pumpkin peel contains 5% glycolic acid which stimulates Collagen and Elastin in the second layer of our skin. You will notice immediate results after your first usage.

4.  Tone Your Skin – The majority of facial toners on the market today are alcohol based which in turn actually will dry out your skin and cause more damage than helping because alcohol will literally wipe out all oils from your skin entirely.  This is not healthy to the skin.  Even a person with “oily skin” has to maintain a small amount of oils in their skin to avoid an adverse reaction of dry, peeling skin.  I recommend an aloe-based toner like our Cucumber Facial Toner as part of your daily routine to restore your skin’s natural pH, tighten your

It’s without saying that every company starting out starts small.  Changes and growth is extremely important for all businesses, especially so for the small business owners.  Often change can be unsettling and unnerving in any circumstance but one needs to stretch beyond their limits and embrace change.

Advertising is the staple of any business for without it how do people know you exist and what you have to offer them?  Keep it going, stay in the forefront of the public eye for when the economy clears up…you will be remembered!  Being remembered is more than half the battle.
